I <3 New York City (Part 2)

Boy does New York City have tasty, mouth-watering, delicious, excellent food!! :D

I went to several good restaurants in New York City and I would share with you my food pictures, but unfortunately the lighting in the restaurants weren't bright enough to take decent pictures. So I am going to share with you the pictures that came out fine!

I already shared with you my experience at the Brooklyn Diner restaurant, now I will be sharing with you my time at a restaurant called Morimoto. Morimoto is one of the best Japanese chefs! You might have seen him on Food Channel's Iron Chef, and his restaurant sure is delicious! The ambiance of the restaurant was retro hip and warm feeling. I especially loved how the restaurant had glass bottles as the walls and how the bathrooms had a glass pane with autumn colored leaves behind it. And you know what was the coolest thing about the bathrooms? (this is going to sound very awkward....but...) The toilets!! The toilets weren't only warm, but on the side of the wall, there were many buttons you could press that controlled the toilet. There was a button where you can control the position of the seat and how warm it would be.

The food at Morimoto was excellent! If I was a food critic, I would give it 5 stars!

Downstairs (Isn't the lighting and furniture hip?)

Downstairs (Those are the bottles I was talking about)

Octopus Carpaccio (with little anchovies)

Orange Tart Creme Brulee
Left side: Orange flavored creme brulee with a 24 carat gold leaf! (Guess who ate the gold leaf? Moi!)
Right side: some kind of Japanese noodles with a tangy flavor and tangerine sorbet.

Oh my gosh....I just noticed. I have a 24 carat gold leaf in my stomach!! Cool! Ha ha.

I <3 New York City

New York City is one of the best cities I have been to so far. Despite the weather and the amount of people, my vacation was a blast! The weather in NYC ranged from 20 to 30 degrees. I noticed that New York City was the coldest place I have been to in my whole entire life. I loved New York City because there was so much entertainment, interesting museums and shops, cute cafes, and restaurants with delicious food!! I believe that the thing I did the most on my trip was.....eating!

On the day we arrived in NYC, it was really early in the morning (8:00 AM) I believe. Since our hotel was a few doors down from the Grand Central Station, we decided to go there first. The Grand Central Station was really pretty, especially the huge USA flag and the beautifully painted ceiling. After taking a few pictures here and there, my family and I went to the Empire State Building. We were one of the first to get there and there wasn't much of a line too! Getting up to the top of the building, 85 floors, was a maze. First you had to take one elevator to the 80th floor. Then you and your family take a picture with a night shot of the Empire State Building background. After that you take another elevator to the 86th floor. Then you walk around and around this maze till you find the door which leads to the roof. The view of New York City was breath-taking. All the buildings were stacked up like Lego's and you could see everything, from the Chrysler building to Statue of Liberty and the Brooklyn Bridge.

After we finished looking at the Empire State Building, my mom and my godmother walked around the city. We went here and there, looking at the shops and eating at a cafe. We also walked around Bryant Park and saw the Flat Iron Building. As the sky was darkening, we decided to go to Time Square. Once we got there (by subway), everything was illuminated! It was so bright! The day wore me out, so we went to have dinner at Brooklyn Diner. I ordered a Cheese Burger Deluxe.....I can still imagine to tasty beefy burger and the mouth-watering onion rings and fries on the side.

By the Way: this post is only my first day in New York City, there will be about 3 more posts!!
